CT to GA Day 4
Chesapeake City, MD to North Beach, MD
We departed from Chesapeake City today at 0700 at slack tide to enable us to carry as much of the ebb tide as possible out the C&D Canal and down the Chesapeake Bay. There were a few patches of fog as we exited the C&D Canal but soon the sun was out and fog was gone.

The bad part was the wind came when the fog left... we were having steady 25 knot winds from the west with gusts to over 30 knots... waves were not bad but sure was windy. It stayed like this till we had the Chesapeake Bay Bridge in sight... then the winds dropped to 10-15 knots and the waves we did have just went away... was very nice for the rest of the day.

There was a ton of debris in the water... small branches to full trees... really had to watch what was ahead... we did not hit anything of any size but it was so thick you could not avoid hitting the smaller branches and miscellaneous debris.

Starting to see a few cruising boats heading south... up till now it has been nothing but fishermen and some commercial boats. I expected to see a lot of fishermen once we came to the Chesapeake Bay Bridge but surprisingly there were none.

We arrived to our destination for the night and were securely docked at 1515... Herrington Harbour South Marina. Our position tonight is N38°43.568', W076°32.565'. We traveled today for 8 hours and 15 minutes covering 62 nautical miles averaging 7.5 knots.
