CT to FL Day 26
Port Royal, SC to Skidaway Island, SC
We left Port Royal a little later than planned... probably due to the birthday celebration... GRIN... not getting away from the dock until 0815.

Our original plans were to go to Kilkenny Marina today but with the late start the currents were not in our favor and we spent most of the day with current against us... so we decided we would go as far as we could and anchor.

The anchoring plan fell apart when looking at the charts at where we would be around 1600-1700... all the anchorage area just did not look enticing and had poor reviews on Active Captain... we opted for a marina instead... Susan wanted to make a run to the grocery so the marina would work out great... Delegal Creek Marina on Skidaway Island. We had been here before and they had a golf cart you could use to run to Publix.

We arrived to the our destination for the night... Delegal Creek Marina on Skidaway Island at 1630 and were secure on the dock with shore power at 1645... Our location for night N31°03.390',W081°03.737'. We traveled today for 8.5 hours covering 54.5 nautical miles averaging 6.4 knots.

After docking I did a quick oil change on both engines while the oil was still hot and easy to extract... then we were off to Publix on the Golf Cart to restock a few things we were running low on.... awesome sunset looking across Delegal Creek to the ICW.

CT to FL Day 24
St. Johns Island, SC to Port Royal, SC
We pulled anchor this morning at 0800... 8 to 9 hour day planned to Beaufort, SC. It was a bright and sunny day with heavier winds than what we have had in while... NE winds 10 to 15 knots steady all day... again today we had the typical ICW Yo-Yo currents... one minute we are going over 9 knots and then you drop to under 5 knots as you pass each inlet from the Atlantic.... overall we averaged slightly above our planned 6.5 knots.

We tried making reservations at Lay's Island Marina... we had never been there and thought it would a nice change... they were full... tried Safe Harbor Beaufort... they were full... even the moorings were full when we called... thought maybe we were going to have to anchor... then we found a slip at Safe Harbor Port Royal... a little further south of Beaufort but we could Uber to downtown easily.

We arrived to the Safe Harbor Port Royal at 1620 and were secure on the dock with shore power at 1630... Our location for night N32°23.769',W080°40.658'. We traveled today for 8.5 hours covering 57.0 nautical miles averaging 6.7 knots.
