Delayed departure this morning so Susan could go to the Saturday Farmers Market... it opened at 0800... Susan returned empty handed and upset... she had hoped to pick up some fresh produce but only found arts & crafts at the Farmers Market... she did however pickup some breakfast sandwiches at the coffee shop...

We got away at 0900 and found that we were fighting current... ran at 5.5 knots all the way to Morehead City where we crossed the inlet from teh Atlantic and had a nice boost for the last 2 hours to our destination for the day... Swansboro, NC.

We lucked out and scored a spot on the town dock... we were secure on the dock with shore power at 1500. Our location for night N34°41.159', W077°07.162'. We traveled today for 6.5 hours covering 37.8 nautical miles averaging 6.3 knots.

We needed a pump out and arrived too late to get one yesterday when we arrived so we delayed out departure... marina opened at 0800... we got our pump out and left Dowry Creek Marina at 0900.

Was an uneventful day with minimal boat traffic... partly cloudy with light winds producing a small chop on the Pamlico Sound and Neuse River... had some rain on the Neuse River but it had cleared up before we reached our destination for the day... Oriental, NC.

We had hoped to get one of the free docks and monitored the web cams all days... the last spot was taken 30 minutes before we arrived.... so we called Oriental Marina and Inn and reserved a slip... luckily they had one available.

We were secure on the dock with shore power at 1530. Our location for night N35°01.468', W076°41.733'. We traveled today for 6.5 hours covering 48.4 nautical miles averaging 7.5 knots.

Long day planned going to Dowry Creek Marina in Belhaven, NC... about an 11 hour trip so we left before sunrise at 0615 so we could arrive before dark.

Was a nice calm day with light winds and bright sunshine... very nice day...

Arrived to our destination for the night Dowry Creek Marina... We were secure on the dock with shore power at 1645. Our location for night N35°31.978', W076°32.127'. We traveled today for 10.5 hours covering 72.5 nautical miles averaging 6.9 knots.
