Departed from Charleston this morning at 0825... current at the Megadock is always fun to deal with and you try to leave at slack tide to avoid it... slack tide was at 1010 and we had about 8 hours to cruise to get to Georgetown... so not to arrive too late we left even with a fairly strong current on our stern... and we had to back out and around other boats... of course thinking about doing always it seems as if it will be harder than it actually is... and this was the case this morning... backed out and had no problems...smooth as silk... LOL

When we left the sun was shinning but as the day progressed it became overcast and soon we were traveling with thunderstorms all around us... never really got any heavy rain but we did have quite a bit of lightning... made for a boring day of cruising.

We arrived to Georgetown and docked at the city docks at 1625... N33º21.982', W079º17.085'.

8 hours of cruising for the day covering 58 nautical miles averaging 7.25 knots.

We left our anchorage in the Stono River this morning at 0930 and headed for the Charleston City Marina. We would staying here for the night and continuing north on the Tuesday the 26th... Laundry, wash down the boat, misc items, etc... We arrived to the marina and docked at 1010 and were secure for the night.

We traveled for 40 minutes and covered 4 nautical miles averaging 6 knots.

Took the dinghy to the Beaufort Municipal Marina Fuel dock first about 0830 to fill her up with gas... the gas in the tank was from last fall in Block Island and the old Honda 40 was not running that well on it... appeared to have a little water in the fuel so I also added some additive to absorb the water and topped off the tank with 6 gallons of fresh gas at $4.39 a gallon...OUCH!!

Returned to SAILS, lifted the dingy to the top deck and weighed anchor and we departed at 0930 hours continuing north on the ICW.

We had current with us and against us all day... 5.5 knots to 8.5 knots... love the times when we have the current with us and doing 8 knots plus... :)

We won a free night at the Charleston City Marina when we were at the MTOA Southern Rendezvous and we needed to get our mail so we have mail being delivered there and it should arrive on Monday the 25th... so we our anchored in the Stono River about an hour away from the marina... will go in to the marina in the early morning on Monday... going to make the most of our free stay at the marina... :)

We arrived at our anchorage at 1730 hours... not a lot of protection from the wind but the breeze will be nice tonight for sleeping... anyway, we are anchored at approximately N32º45.503', W080º00.597'.

We met an MTOA member while anchored in Beaufort... Charles Crawford aboard his trawler BAMA BELLE... he is doing the loop and home port is in Alabama... he and his crew mate "Stormy" have joined us tonight in the Stono River anchorage... he plans to go into Charleston City Marina on Monday also.

Today we traveled for 8 hours covering 55 nautical miles averaging 6.875 knots.
