CT to FL Day 36
Alva, FL to Punta Gorda, FL

We left the anchorage this morning just before 0700 to make the first locking at W.P.Franklin Lock... hails to the lock on VHF went unanswered.... about 0710 I saw the lockmaster rushing up to the lock from shore... he was running late... GRIN

He finally hailed us and gave us instructions on entering the lock when we get the green light... which was not until 0720... so much for getting to the lock for 0700... SMILE. This was our last lock for crossing the Okeechobee Waterway... we dropped about 2 feet.
Was a bit cloudy and gloomy most of the morning and chilly... 46° when we left the anchorage... winds were down and waves less than 1 foot... afternoon the sun came out and it warmed temps reaching the lower 70's... nice day.
We arrived a day earlier than we had planned so our slip in Fishermen's Village Marina was not open... another boat occupying it, so we had to anchor off the marina and go in tomorrow.

We arrived to our destination for the night in Punta Gorda< FL and anchored just off of Fishermen's Village Marina at 1650 and securely anchored at 1700. Our location for the night
N26°56.096',W082°04.045'. We traveled today for 10.0 hours covering 64.77 nautical miles averaging 6.5 knots.
