FL to CT Day 11
Palm Coast, FL to Jacksonville, FL
We were up and underway early... pulling the anchor just before sunrise at 0700. We had a great evening with Sarah and Phil... was so great catching up with them... had been a couple of years since we last saw them.

Today's weather was very similar to yesterday... winds 20-30 knots and rain... but far less rain.

Boat traffic was way up with tons of cruisers heading north... must have had 10-12 pass us heading north... only handful of southbound boats.

We started off with a great boost from the current that carried us a few miles south of St. Augustine where lost the boots until after the St. Augustine Inlet and it was back pushing us over 8 knots... short lived though as we were at the top of the flood tide. We ran against it until Jacksonville Inlet and the St. John's River.

The wind had become brutal at almost 30 knots steady... we headed up the ICW after crossing the St. John's River... I was expecting to get a favorable current... but we got just the opposite... very strong wind and current against us... we had planned to stop in Fernandina Beach today but decided to call it day with the wind and current against us. We continued up the ICW to Sisters' Creek with fingers crossed there would be an open space on the Sister's Creek Free Dock.

Luckily there was one spot left... 6 other boats already docked for the day... 3 sailboats and 3 power boats. We arrived at approximately 1445 and we were securely docked at approximately 1500... our position for the night N30°23.892', W081°27.513’. We traveled today for 8 hours covering 55.2 nautical miles averaging 6.9 knots.

FL to CT Day 10
Daytona Beach, FL to Palm Coast, FL
Another short day planned... stopping in Palm Coast to visit our friends Sarah and Phil... they are just off the ICW in Palm Coast and have invited us to stay on their dock. We left Daytona at approximately 1030

Weather was horrible with 20-30 knot winds and rain... some times heavy rain... was just nasty out... we were glad we did not have far to go.
Weather kept the boat traffic down to just a few crazy cruisers like ourselves...

We arrived to Sarah and Phil's dock at approximately 1445 only to find it under water... no way for us to dock and fend off... we moved out to the center of the basin and dropped the hook. We were securely anchored at approximately 15000... our position for the night N29°35.175', W081°12.415’. We traveled today for 4.5 hours covering 26.8 nautical miles averaging 6.0 knots.

We used the dinghy to get in to Sarah and Phil's house.... spend a nice afternoon and evening with them.
